Joyeux anniversaire!

Happy birthday to you, dear frodosweetstuff! I hope you're having a wonderful day and that pesky RL is allowing you to enjoy hobbits, kings, sorcerers and consulting detectives for a little while.:)

Here's a little something I wrote last year and never got around to posting. Your birthday gave me the incentive to unearth it and make it presentable. I hope you'll like it!:)

Title: In the barn
Fandom: LotR (AU)
Pairing: Frodo/Sam (of course!)
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Frodo and Sam meet for the first time at The Golden Cock, one of the few "gay" inns in the Shire. Smut ensues.
A/N: this is the second part of a fic I've started to write eons ago; if you are interested, you can find the first part here:

*lots of love and hugs*

I got mail!

First, big and heartfelt thank yous to dear mews1945, julchen11 and frolijah_fan_54 for the beautiful cards and lovely good wishes. I got them yesterday, and they really made my day, or rather my weekend.:)

As for my own cards, I'm not sure I'll manage to send them before the holidays.:( On a whim, I decided to crochet the ornaments I usually put in the envelopes along with the cards; I like to crochet, so it wasn't a chore in the last. But I'm sorely lacking in practicality, and I had crocheted quite a few ornaments before it occurred to me to check whether those would fit in the envelopes or not. And of course, they wouldn't, not without folding the ornaments; which was impossible anyway, because I had sugar-starched them and they were stiff as a board. So, I'm currently crocheting smaller ornaments as fast as it's humanly possible, and hopefully I'll be done by the end of the week. *wipes brow*

Well, I'll leave you in the company of this amazing crocheted cake and I'll come back to my hook.:)

Look at that icing!

Fic repost

This fic was written for the Chocolate challenge at fffc and posted last week.

Author: bagma
Prompt: Chocolate
Pairing: Frodo/Sam, Merry/Pippin (implied)
Rating: PG-13
Word count: about 2000. I got a little carried away.
Summary: Frodo loves chocolate, but chocolate doesn't always loves him back.
A/N: I was inspired to write this silly ficlet after seeing the picture I've placed in the middle of the text. I'm not sure, but I think the photo comes from Cakewrecks. So, Brace yourself!:)

Joyeuses Pâques à tous!

I hope everybody is having a lovely Easter, filled with chocolate eggs:

...bunnies of every size (if you manage to catch them):

...cute chicks:

...or, if you are aiming for something more elegant, a bunch of spring flowers, as edible as the rest of the cake:

And if you are on a diet, I hope you had lots of fun and happiness to compensate for the lack of sugar high.:)

*hugs flist*

PS: all the cake pictures come from cakewrecks.

On windows and Romanesque Abbeys

*wipes brow*

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that this week is finished! Our house is rather old and the past few years the windows could have been used as sieves; I used to say that every time I'd take a shower the garden got watered, and I was barely exaggerating. So, we had to have all of them replaced, and as our dog can't stand strangers working in his home -he's able to bark non-stop for hours on end in such a situation-, we had to flee the house with him every day. It was tiresome, and as I haven't entirely recovered my strenght yet, I'm pretty exhausted now and my house is a mess. But at least we have sparkling windows, and we got to see some lovely places in my canton.:)

For example, the first day we visited Romainmôtier, a medieval town with a beautiful half Romanesque half Gothic Abbey. I took a few photos with my phone.

The Abbey itself: as you can see, the weather was glorious.

Meme, gacked from mews1945

Let me know in a comment that you wish to play along, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then, but only if you want to, post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself. mews1945 gave me these questions to answer:

I don't mean to offend LotR purists, transgender people or Sean Bean, but this picture made me laugh out loud and I had to share it.:D He doesn't exactly look like Galadriel, does he? Even if Tolkien said she was as tall as her husband and had a deep voice...:)

I don't know who wrote the caption, but the photo comes from
